Guide to the CBB study plan

To help you choose your courses or get some tips about how to structure your study plan, this page contains summaries and tips for courses directly from CBB students. All contributions are welcome! Please contact the CCBB if you would like to help improve this page.

Disclaimer: this is not official information but opinions gathered from current and former students. For official information please see the CBB website.

Zürich, Basel? ETH, UZH, UBas?

As a CBB student, you can take courses at ETH, University of Zurich (UZH) and University of Basel (UBas). To make things even more interesting, our master is part of the only ETH department that is located in Basel, the D-BSSE, together with Biotechnology. So you can take ETH courses in Zürich and/or in Basel.

You can theoretically do the program all in Zürich or all in Basel, but you will, most likely, need to do some commuting at some point. It really depends on your interests and how much you mind commuting. You can check out this page for more information about the two locations.

Some ETH courses are recorded and you can watch them online afterwards.
Some of the courses from the D-BSSE in Basel are streamed to a room in Zurich (HG D 16.2) where you can watch them live and you can ask your questions in real time with a microphone.
